For the first time since its creation in 2012, the new US Foundation Friends of Alliance CENTRALE LYON – EMLYON organized in Miami the first Forum of its Advisory Council, on Nov. 15th to 17th. This event, under the high patronage of the Minister in charge of the French Abroad, and in the presence of the French Consul of Miami, conveyed a real dynamic towards the rapprochement of CENTRALE LYON & EMLYON, as well as the federation and mobilization of Alumni from both schools, representing a powerful potential for the Foundation.
Beyond a first-ever get together in the US, gathering more than 65 CENTRALE LYON & EMLYON Alumni coming from the US, Canada & France, this major initiative led to a real operational platform for actions.
As a matter of fact, the recommendations emerging from debates and working sessions shaped an ambitious North American action plan for the Campus, covering student mentorship, academic partnerships, entrepreneurship advisory, and exposure of students to the North American culture. Fundraising is also part of the plan, as soon as the IRS status is confirmed to the Foundation.
All attendees showed a great deal of enthusiasm and look forward to sharing the results of this action plan next year, during the Second Forum, held this time in the Silicon Valley.
Henry Gazay, VP of the Advisory Council | US Foundation Friends of Alliance, concludes: “The first Alliance forum held in Miami has been a true success with more than 70 participants coming from all over the US, France and Canada. In the true spirit of our schools, it was a mix of smart work, intelligence, good food and fun! Thank you to all of you who came to Miami, and for the ones who did not, you really missed something - See you all next year in the Silicon Valley for the second edition of the Alliance forum.”
