Current students of the MSc in International Hospitality Management, MSc in Sports Industry Management and MSc in Luxury Management & Marketing have had busy weeks during the past few months. From visiting hotels like the St. Pancras Renaissance in London or the Shangri-La to travelling to world-renowned sports trade show ISPO in Munich and meeting high-end representatives of Richemont and Chloé International, their academic year keeps on getting more and more about hands-on experience. Building a network in the sports industry with company missions, conferences and visits

Once students got back from their winter break, students jumped right back into it! While pursuing their courses in the French Alps, the cohort had the pleasure of visiting the Olympique Lyonnais with Nathan Constancias, programme graduate now working for the OL Park in Lyon. Also and like every year, the students travelled to world-renowned trade show ISPO where they met key actors of the industry including Tobias Groeber, Director of ISPO, Ryan Gellert, General Manager of Patagonia and Victor Duran, Global CEO of Intersport. What’s more is that after they got back from this unique trip, the students presented one of the business cases they were working on about rebranding strategies to the President and Marketing Director of the Saint Raphaël Var Handball Club. Last but not least, they met with the General Manager of Nike, Amanda Tucker. What’s next? During the month of March, students will present another business case about the digitalisation of Nike to top managers of the sports company!

Diving into the luxury industry with Vanity Fair, Chloé International and Richemont

At the beginning of January, Richemont, one of the leading global luxury goods companies, held an Expert Panel in Paris followed by a cocktail reception. During this event, students met with Geoffroy de la Bourdonnaye, CEO Chloé International, Stanislas de Quercize, CEO Richemont France and Donna Bernard, Director Executive Recruitment Richemont France.

But that’s not it! After hearing from luxury experts, students got a true hands-on experience as they recently visited embroidery house Ecole Lesage, part of Chanel! During this particular trip students learned about the history of embroidery and the Maison Lesage and visited different workshops. But that’s not all for MSc in Luxury Management & Marketing students….Those who travelled to London to attend courses at London College of Fashion recently met with 2 entrepreneurs who have developed products in high quality leather goods and champagne!

Engaging with the international community of the hospitality industry with a field trip to London

The first Field Trip to Paris was a big hit and the program organised a second one in London this time! This was a great opportunity for students to get hands-on experience of the hospitality industry in another environment. Among other hotels and palaces, the cohort visited the St. Pancras Renaissance London Hotel, the Sanderson Hotel, the Beaumont Hotel, the Shangri-La, the Dorchester London, the Town Hall Hotel and the Langham Hotel. During the month of January, students also had the pleasure of attending world-famous hospitality trade show SIRHA in Lyon. With 11 sectors dedicated to food products, equipment and services for professionals, the SIRHA embodies the global market for catering and food service sectors. Taking part in this trade exhibit places you at the heart of the largest observatory for worldwide Food Service!

Meeting the makers on their way to building their entrepreneurial dreams

From developing start-ups in the fields of social entrepreneurship or tech and innovation to taking over family businesses, Global Entrepreneurship Program graduates are working hard to reach their entrepreneurial dreams. Among the most recent success stories is the one of Harshit Tripathi and Eric Anderegg who launched Tasko a few months ago and who are currently taking part in different start-up competitions in order to get funding to expand their new venture.
